Adeline Yen Mah is Founder and President of the Falling Leaves Foundation, whose mission is 'to promote understanding between East and West' and provides funds for the study of Chinese history, language, and culture. There is also a website dedicated to teaching Chinese over the Internet for free, and the foundation has established a poetry prize at UCLA. Chinese Character A Day is Adeline Yen Mah’s dream to teach mandarin Chinese to anyone who wishes to learn. Students are able to type Chinese characters on their home computers after the first lesson. The lessons are based on her book, “China Land of Dragons and Emperors”, which is a free download for new email subscribers. From then on, Adeline teaches students how to recognize, type, pronounce, and write Chinese Characters. Adeline also created this site under the belief that China will probably become the world’s largest economy in twenty years’ time. Knowing Chinese will not only provide an understanding of China’s history and culture, it will also "create endless opportunities for a brilliant future."
