Celeste Ng: Short Stories Background

Celeste Ng is a well-rounded novelist and short story writer known for her bestselling debut novel Everything I Never Told You, which was published during 2015 by Penguin Books. Her second novel, Little Fires Everywhere, was also published by Penguin Books during 2017.

Regarding her short stories, she has published close to a dozen of them, which touch of different themes, such as Chinese culture and intimate family matters. These short stories have been published in a number of publications, such as the Gulf Coast, Five Chapters, Bellevue Literary Review, and One Story, among others. Some short story titles include How to be Chinese, The Kind of Man, We Are Not Strangers, Parallel, and What Passes Over.

Ng's literary talent has earned her numerous awards and prizes, such as the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature, the Medici Book Club Prize, the Pushcart Prize, and the American Library Association Alex Award, among several others.
