Remaking a Play

Structure:
Toomer originally wrote "Kabnis" as a play. When he transformed it into a story, he kept certain elements of a script, such as the way in which he attributes dialogue and detailed descriptions of settings. Divide students into groups of 5 and ask them to rewrite a scene from the story as a scene in a play. What will the setting look like on a stage? What props will be present?
