What is the main theme discussed by Rhodes in Black Brother, Black Brother?

The primary theme discussed by the author is racism. Donte is an innocent Black boy who suffers because he has dark skin. All students in his class feel uncomfortable when Donte is around. Making matters worse, teachers also treat Donte coldly, which makes him feel unwanted. When the school-fencing captain falsely accuses Donte, he is put behind bars for the mistake he did not commit. Therefore, the author focuses on Black people's challenges in white society.

How did Donte discover his purpose in life?
