Black Boy Lesson Plan

If all of the elements of this lesson plan are employed, students will develop the following powers, skills, and understanding:

   Students will be able to analyze and discuss, both individually and as a class, the important ideas and themes of Black Boy.

   Students will be able to examine the cultural and historical context of Black Boy to gain a deeper understanding of it.

   Students will be able to discuss the characterization of the narrator, and understand his motivations.
