Objective:

Students will work in pairs to write a letter to the editor against the use of check-reins

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.8.1.A, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.8.1.E

Structure:

Ask the students what a letter to the editor is (a letter sent to a publication offering support or concern for a local issue, generally intended to be published).
