Relationship to Other Books

Coates refers to a number of different authors, artists, and historical figures in Between the World and Me, so any works by those authors would be excellent choices for further reading. In particular, because of the comparisons that have been made between the two works, it would be beneficial for students to read at least some chunk of The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin.
