The irony of the zoo
The zoo is a highly protected area, and all animals inside are guarded throughout against intruders. Ironically, the zoo is surrounded by mysterious deaths of animals such as the hippo, which was killed. Harry (the hippo) was a source of inspiration to many visitors because of its beauty and attractiveness.
The satire of Teddy
Teddy is a young boy aged 12-years old. Ironically, the young age does not discourage Teddy from being a champion for the rights of animals. Teddy and his friend are on a mission to discover the mystery surrounding the deaths of animals at the zoo. Towards the end of the story, Teddy and his friend, Summer, discover that the hippo did not die naturally, but it was killed. Later, Teddy and his friends manage to trace down the killers.
The satire of Large Marge
Large Marge is a satirical character because her aggressiveness towards Teddy is uncalled for. Throughout the amusement park, Large Marge is the only adult who bullies Teddy. Large Marge is a big-bodied security female who does not get embarrassed when bullying a 12-year-old boy.
J.J. McCracken
J.J. McCracken is the person who established FunJungle Zoo. Ironically, one of the main reasons for setting up the zoo was profitability. The reader finds it satirical that an individual can set up a zoo and prioritize money instead of first ensuring that the safety of the animals at the zoo is assured and guaranteed.
