Johnna's Perspective

Objective:
Students will explore Johnna's perspective by writing a scene from her point of view.

Structure:
Though Johnna plays a minor role in most of the play, she anchors the play's opening and closing moments. Begin the activity by having students discuss the similarities between the opening and closing scenes. In the first, Johnna is with Beverly and the last with Violet, but both times she is quiet and observant, giving the other characters exactly what they want from her.
