Every classroom is different, but the themes in Atonement, such as guilt and redemption, fiction and truth, and socioeconomic class, will appeal to most adolescent students. These lessons and activities provide many different approaches to these themes; select those that best suit the strengths and interests of your own class. Tread carefully with the subject of false rape accusations, and be wary of any comments that could upset survivors of sexual assault and other abuse.
