Headeye is the friend of the narrator who possesses supernatural power. He invites his friend Fishhound to come with him to see the ark of Ezekiel. He claims that he has seen the ark of bones, but his friend doesn't believe in his story.
Fishhound - 'Ark of Bones'
Fishhound is the narrator of the story. Headeye is his classmate and friend. Fishhound doesn't believe in the story of Headeye's returning of the soul boat but, then he witnesses the ark stuffed with bones of the dead.
The Young Boy - 'Devil's Bird'
The protagonist is a boy who sees Satan and God coming to his house as a guest. Satan and God propose his sick grandfather to play the game of card, and the grandfather losses the game. The boy gets furious and captures Satan's rod. He tries to chase the devil bird to help his grandfather.
