Why interested in this university Sambhav Jain

Recently, I overheard my mother and her store manager discussing ways to attract teenage customers. As a teenager myself, I felt that providing a complementary sports watch with a purchase of over Rs. 1000 would encourage the customers to shop, and also move the watches which were not doing well. The two adults implemented my suggestion and recorded an increase in the sales. Encouraged, I wrote a research paper on my mother’s firm to determine if they should diversify. This is perhaps only a first step into entrepreneurial research, yet it has whetted my appetite for business.

At SMU, I plan to satiate this hunger studying international marketing under Professor Richard Briesch, as I am intrigued by his article, ‘Category Positioning and Store Choice: The Role of Destination Categories’. Moreover, I am a certified advanced scuba diver; I would love to share knowledge and experiences with other divers. It is a given that I will join the join the Smux Diving Team. I have proudly worn the school colours for the basketball team for the past five years and look forward to being a part of SMU Mustangs.
