A new baby has entered the world. No feeling can compare to the exhilaration and innocence of a birth. Many important milestones throughout my life are marked by experiencing this miracle.

The first childbirth I ever watched was not a personal experience but a rather unconventional one. I was watching one of my mom’s favorite shows, “A Baby Story” with her one day when it showed a cesarean section. I developed a fascination with this show and the whole process. All of a sudden my goal was to deliver babies one day. Everyone assumed that this goal was simply the ramblings of a four-year-old girl. That mindset triggered my stubborn side and drove me to pursue this future career. I spent time learning math. I continued to immerse myself into “A Baby Story”. I read science books.
