Why do you want to study your chosen major specifically at Georgia Tech?


"Are you sure you want that one? You might not like it, and I won't be getting you another book this week." It was getting late, and my mother was making her final attempt to convince me to get a more age-appropriate book.

Nevertheless, I was adamant. I left the Barnes and Noble grinning from ear to ear.

I was the proud owner of "How the Body Works: A Comprehensive Illustrated Encyclopedia of Anatomy" by Peter Abrahams. Coming in at a mighty eight years old, the textbook was bigger than my torso and definitely above my reading level—and I read it cover to cover. I was fascinated. I already had a natural desire to learn the "why" and "how" of the world around me, but this was the moment that sparked my interest in biology and psychology.

At Georgia Tech, I will be able to grow as both a dedicated student and a contributing member of my community. I would love to take advantage of all of the courses of study that would be available to me as a biology major. I am most interested in the 5-year joint BSBIO/MSBIO program and the numerous study abroad programs offered by Georgia Tech, which I believe will allow me to maximize my undergraduate experience.
