    How do gender roles contribute to the narrative? How do they relate to the major themes and messages of the narrative?

    Even though Anthem was written by a woman, the story still confirms to the traditional gender roles of the time. The narrator chooses his own name (Prometheus) but also chooses a name for the Golden One (Gaia). The Golden One does not seem to have any interest in choosing her own name. In addition, when the two reach the house, it is only the narrator who studies and pours over manuscripts.
