    In this section we learn that Levin has a sister whose estate he is managing. What do we know about this sister of Levin's?

    Readers may be shocked to learn that Levin has a sister. (She was briefly mentioned in Part 1, but very briefly. The reader may have overlooked her.) While both of Levin's brothers are major characters in the novel, and we learn a lot about Levin's back story through flashbacks, we know almost nothing about this sister. She never makes an appearance in the novel. We never even learn her name.
