Macon Detornay
Macon Detornay is a white Jewish boy, who hates the whites for mistreating the blacks. He witnesses the racial prejudice against the blacks, so he starts taking revenge from the whites by disguising himself as a taxi driver. He harasses the white passengers and often terrorizes them by showing them a gun. Macon seems to fight for the blacks against the people of his own race, but he doesn't take any rational steps to promote justice and equality.
Beastie Boys
A group of white boys is also present in the book, famous entertainers who follow the black musical ideas to entertain their own community. They are called 'Beastie Boys' and Macon hates them because they steal the ideas of the black people and still treats them with prejudice instead of respect.
King Rodney
There is a character of King Rodney, who was assaulted in LA riots, and the police officers who abused him were acquitted of the charge. They were not taken into account by anyone. Macon makes the tattoo of King’s verdict on his arm and shows it to his roommate in college.
