Students will research the clothing worn by people in late-1930s England.

Structure:

For this activity, students will research the fashion trends of England in the 1930s. Given that there are so many characters from disparate backgrounds, this activity will help students create a more accurate mental image of what the novel's proceedings look like. It is likely that students already have some idea of what the fashion trends of the time were, so they may use this base understanding as a jumping-off point for their research.
