"An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" and Other Civil War Stories Character List

A man who was engaged in being hanged and was about 35 years old, civilian, apparently a planter. He was a handsome man with straight nose, long dark hair, mustache and beard. Private soldiers of the federal army

Private soldiers of the federal army were men who, in the period of the Civil War, struggled for the North. They were well armed, well trained, and well-coordinated.
