Henry
Henry is the protagonist of the story. After a five-year jail term, Henry returns home to take of his eight-year-old son, Junior, single-handedly but life is not easy. Junior's mother is an addict and is not responsible at all.
Junior
Junior is Henry’s and Michelle’s son.
Pa
Pa is Henry's father who came from the Philippines to the United States to pursue graduate education. He meets a girl (Henry' mother), and they start dating. Later they get married and are blessed with a son (Henry).
Henry’s Mother
Henry's mother is Pa's wife. She later dies of cancer, leaving Pa with a big debt to deal with in life.
Michelle
Michelle is Henry's wife and Junior's mother. She is an addict, and irresponsible, leaving all parental responsibility to her husband.
