Objective:

Students will fill out a character map of the novel's main characters.

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.3

Structure:

This activity will have students list out the main characters of A Study In Scarlet, as well as everything we know about them already. For instance, we know that Watson is a war veteran and is recovering from an injury sustained in battle.

Students will continue to create short, but informative summaries of each character until all ten have been listed.

Ideas for Differentiated Instruction:

This activity may be performed in small groups, rather than as a full class.
