The Speaker
The speaker is a young woman exploring the enchantment of nature. During the night, the speaker gets outside to experience the mysterious atmosphere. The speaker knows the world is full of strange things that supersede daily reality. When the speaker stands outside at night, she hears trees murmuring. However, she cannot tell what the trees say because they whisper very lowly. When the speaker looks up, she sees a distant star brightening the forest ahead. The speaker also sees images of goblin men walking across the lawn, talking in low voices.
The speaker understands the magical world more than she explains it to us. The speaker does not want us to know what she thinks of the mystical events because the spirits prohibit her. However, she gives an overview of what the magical world looks like. The speaker behaves like a child who promises not to share her secrets but finds herself spilling the same information she is supposed to safeguard.
