Movie: A Lesson Before Dying

Students will compare and contrast between the novel and the adapted made-for-television movie

Structure:
A Lesson Before Dying was turned into a made-for-television movie in 1999, adapted from the novel. It won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie. The movie can be purchased on Amazon or streamed on youtube or most preferred streaming sites.
The students will watch the film over two class days, with the intent of comparing and contrasting between the novel and award winning film.
