About the Author

Reginald Rose was born in New York City in 1920. He served in the Army Quartermaster Corps during World War II, married in 1943, and had four children. After working a variety of odd jobs in his young adulthood, he rose to prominence as a film and television writer in the 1950s and 1960s, and was particularly noted for his influence on realist, "slice of life" television drama, a staple of the early days of television; its influence continues to this day. He created several teleplays for CBS's Studio One. One such was 12 Angry Men, which would become his most famous work.
