Objective:

Students will use textual evidence to create a character analysis

Structure:

Break the class into groups and assign each group one of the stories from the collection. The groups should identify the main characters in their stories to analyze. Instruct the groups that they must keep their assigned story secret from the rest of the class.

Students will be analyzing the main characters in their assigned story by creating a chart based on the following categories: physical descriptions, positive qualities, negative qualities, and their relationships with other major characters. For each category,...
