What was Zlata's interests, personality, and family life?

Prior to 1992, Zlata was a happy, young girl (she is eleven). Whe we first meet her, she is interested in things that most young girls are interested in.... supermodels, the music charts, her next vacation and, as a conscientious student, doing well in the upcoming new school year and with her music studies. She has a close relationship with her parents, and over the course of the novel their relationships become even closer. The Fikipovic family is doing well before the war, the family enjoys nice vacations, lives in a beautiful home, and owns a summer home,
