How does jack feel and do on Halloween in Jack's point of view? In the book Wonder.

In the first chapter August said that he heard some people saying rude somments about him. And then realizes that that rude comments came from Jack. What is this whole situation in Jack's point of view?

I've just read through the first two chapters of the novel and find no reference to Jack. Are you sure you have the correct information posted above?
