Weedon Scott was special because of his patience. Unlike other men, Scott was kind and soft spoken. He spoke to White Fang with respect, he handled him lovingly, and although White Fang didn't respond to physical affection at the start.... he quickly became used to Weedon's warm demeanor. These are the reasons Weedon was special to White Fang, and the reasons White Fang refused to be left behind when Scott returned to San Francisco and his family.
