I think that for one thing, the rigid caste system still happens to day in parts of India. It is against the law to discriminate against people based on caste but it still happens. There are still kids like Bakha who have little prospects in life. This isn't unique to India. Although not the Indian Caste system, many countries employ child labor from poor families.
