Could anyone explain to me the "tension of oppisites". please give me an example based on events in the novel.

The "tension of opposites" has to do with the way we live our lives and struggle to balance things. An example in the novel would be Mitch's struggle between the hours he works and his social life.... spending time with the woman he loves.
