Why doesn’t death affect the characters in the novel treasure island? What, if anything, do the men seem to fear more than death?

I think death does affect these men. None of them want to die. They just seem obsessed with treasure.

Death doesn't affect anyone of the man, but none of them wants to die, they just want that treasure
