Why does Alexandra think Scout is dull?

Alexandra's belief that Scout is dull has nothing to do with how we would define the word today. She sees Scout as dull because she's a tomboy, loves to play, and is more concerned with what's going on outside than directing her focus toward acting like a proper southern girl should. Alexandra thinks Scout should be taking her place among the women in society and enjoying "girlie" things..... Scout doesn't.
