who is zeebo and what does he do at church

Zeebo, Calpurnia's oldest son, is the town garbage collector. He is one of only four people in First Purchase church who can read, and so he is the vocal leader, leading hymns in the black First Purchase Church by "lining," reading a line of verse and having the congregation repeat it.
