What is Calpunia's place in the Finch household?

Calpurnia is a parent/mother figure in the house. Atticus is away a lot and he trusts Calpurnia to basically help raise both Scout and Jem. Calpurnia is strict with them but he demands are always tempered with a sincere concern and love for the Finch kids.
