Scout realizes that Boo is no monster; he is in fact the opposite. Boo is Scout and Jem's guardian protector. Scout now sees the childish stories and antics of her past spoke to her own immaturity rather than any mystery that Boo held. Scout also understands the very dark side of her town. She sees how her friends and neighbours can cling to racism and bigotry rather than accept the obvious truth. Scout sees a very unfair world where mockingbird figures, like Tom and Boo, are doubted and menacing people like Boo Radley are believed.
