Segregation, is evident when Calpurnia brings Jem and Scout to church. Although, only one of the parishioners verbally objects, the fact that their presence is inappropriate was addressed. Aunt Alexandra responds in kind. She was appalled that the children accompanied Calpurnia and voiced her opinion loudly.
