The Tom Robinson case is largely an example of racial inequality. Certainly, being black, puts Tom Robinson at the bottom of the social hierarchy , even below the wretched Bob Ewell. The irony is that, in the end, the town knows the truth: Bob Ewell is guilty of unspeakable crimes and Tom is an innocent man. The racial bias however wins out over Bob's social inequality.
