what is the mood in the courthouse square on the first day of the trial. what did you find desturbing about it

The mood is festive, rather like a "carnival". People from all around the region were in Maycomb. This is desturbing because of the heartbreaking travesty of f justice that was about to take place. This trial should not have even been happening.
