To Kill a Mockingbird

Think about Scout's fight with Francis and Attitcus' message to Uncle Jack about children being able to "spot an evasion quicker than adults." How do these two elements connect to the value of having Scout, a child, be the narrator of this story?

Scout's vision is pure and innocent. It hasn't been colored by the people around her, and her father has taught her to think for herself. Scout's perspective allows us to see the events through the eyes of a child who hasn't been biased or jaded. She's simply a little girl attempting to make sense of events that make no sense.
