The first eight chapters are part of what we could call plot line #11. Summarize the action of this plot line and give it a name?

Much of these have to do with life in Maycomb. Scout and Jem are coming of age and we get a good look at the patient, heroic and humble man that is Atticus. WE also get a glimpse into the theme of innocence and the mockingbird through Boo Radley. The heavy hitting race stuff is still to come?
