Chapter 20, in most states of the USA people who drink alcohol in public places are required to hide their bottle in a paper bag. What does Mr. Dolphins Raymond drink and why does he hide it in a bag?

Dolphus Raymond has opted out of white society. He has married a coloured woman and spends his time in the company of coloured people. He likes people to think that he is a drunk of sorts by drinking out of a paper bag. It is really only Coke though.
