Atticus's advice is straightforward but requires practice. Over the course of the novel, we see Scout thinking about her father's words and adjusting her actions. By the end of the novel, we can see she's learned the lesson her father taguht her through her interaction with Boo. Scout learns to think of others first, and to consider their situations before passing judgment.
