Chapter 18
Firstly just looking at Mayella makes us realize that she has been a victim all her life. She is dishevelled and seems to have the maturity and social awareness of a small child. He horrible home life combined with her obviously contrived testimony creates suspense by the fact that even a "child" could see through her lies. The question is if a racist jury will still do the right thing?
