How the story was narrated and why do u think lee chooses this perspective?

The story is told in first person from Scout's point of view after she is a grown woman. I think Lee does this so there is always a sense of hindsight and maturity attached to Scout's humorous and painful observations. We see all the events with the "voice" of a precocious child yet with the understanding of an adult who has become enlightened over the years.
