How does Scout show her sense and sensitivity toward Jem? What does this say about her?

Are you referring to the knot in the treehole being cemented and Jem's tears? If so, Scout pretends she doesn't see them and gives her brother the room he needs to get over it. She knows that he doesn't want her to see him cry, thus, she allots him the privacy he requires.
