Did Boo's family treat him fairly?

Not at all, Boo's family took care of his needs, all while locking him away like an animal. They didn't seek help, nor did they give him another chance. The boy made a mistake, and he paid for it for the rest of his life. By the time he was old enough to make his own choices and find his way in the world.... he was afraid of it.
