How is Miss Maudie different to Other Women in the novel?

Miss Maudie is different because she treats the children respectfully. She takes the time to listen and advise them. She's a trusted friend, who welcomes them to her home, feeds them goodies, and takes the time to pay attention.... she doesn't run them off or make them feel as if they're not wanted.
