In what way is Arthur Radley different to whom the children thought he was?
Arthur was no monster. He was a painfully introverted gentle man who turns out to be a guardian angel figure for Scout and Jem. He looks like a man that has been shut in his house for years but there is a kindness and innocence about him that belies any of the childish rumours about him that Scout and Jem used to entertain.
As the rumours of the kids began from Arthur Radley being some sort of monster. The kids slowly got to understand that Arthur Radley wasn't a person who looked like a killer or was dangerous in any way but rather found out that he is kind and is innocent in many way. This explain that Arthur Radley is completly different to what the children thought of him. It is just the rumours that made the radley's seem dangerous.
When the children were younger, they always imagined Boo Radley as some kind of scary monster that attacked his mother. When Scout finally meets him, she learns how he really cared about the children and Scout describes him as a little boy looking for his home. We know that he was the one that kill Bob Ewell in order to save the children
Why does Heck Tate insist that Bob Ewell fell on his own knife? Is this what really happened?
