To Kill a Mockingbird

At the beginning of the chapter, Scout is critical of Attitcus because he seems old and and doesn't do anything that she deems impressive. By the end of the chapter, her opinion has changed. Why?

By the end of the chapter, Attiicus has heroically killed Tim Johnson, and his children learn that he was once known as "One-Shot-Finch". His children are aptly proud of their father.
