To Kill a Mockingbird

3. Why does Aunt Alexandra come to stay with Atticus and his family? Describe her personality.

I need the answer to be in depth (and correct of course) it can't sound super smart either.

The chapters this question should be in is 12-13

Aunt Alexandra believes that Atticus and the children need looking after, and that Scout needs an example and mentoring to become a young lady. She has very strict, traditional ideas of how society works and the role a Southern woman should play. She earneslty tries to pass along this information to Scout, who is not particularly interested. Alexandra is concerned with raising Atticus's children "properly," and thus appears during the summer of Tom's trial to stay with them.
